Remembering September 11

I will never forget Loren waking me up in my dorm room to show me what was happening the morning of September 11, 2001.

I will never forget wondering if a dear friend, living in New York, was safe from the devastation.

I will never forget the new stories, the songs, the poems and the way we all felt in the wake of the tragedy.

Today I am saddened for the families who lost someone, grateful for the men and women who sacrificed to help, and blessed to live in a country that will never forget.
